Cafoodda project links research and innovation in nutrition taking off from the local products. It aims at rediscovering the symbolic value of the coming together of different flavours as the characterizing feature of a layered, old food tradition. Territoriality and development are the solid elements of this research that seeks to build healthy and vibrant diets that respect the environment.
Cafoodda functional food mixes are the synthesis of two principles that come together in one only extraordinary product. The two main ingredients are: dried fruit, carefully selected amongst the Sicilian food excellence, and the fresher and most typical dehydrated fruit of the region. Triggering the creation of each product, the will of finding a compromise between innovation and tradition and a balance between taste and health: the ethics behind is to be found in the sense of belonging for one’s own homeland and in the care for the living elements of mother hearth.
